One NFL star has been very honest.

As a quarterback in the NFL, all eyes are on you, even more so if you are taking with the first overall pick in the draft.

That was the situation Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young found himself in last season, and things did not go according to plan.

The 22-year-old threw just 11 touchdowns in his rookie season as the Panthers slumped to a 2-15 finish and the foot of the NFC South.

But going into 2024, Young has a new head coach, new weapons and an improved offensive line, as he looks to take a positive step forward in his career.

Speaking to ESPN, Young gave an honest assessment of his rookie season, but remained focused on the future.

"I'm far from perfect,'' said Young.

"We all have our struggles and things, and we have good and bad days.

“But it's like any season, it's important during a time when there's a lot going on and a lot of stressful situations, knowing that's a time to make sure I really don't lose sight of things mentally.

"It's my responsibility to fill in the gaps and make sure if we're in a spot where the energy is low, it's my responsibility to get it up.

“If it's too high, it's my responsibility to make sure we're focused and locked in.''
