The NFL announced Wednesday the players of the week for the AFC and NFC in Week 1.

AFC

Offense: Joe Mixon, Houston Texans

Mixon's introduction to the Texans couldn't have gone any better as the running back racked up 178 scrimmage yards (159 rushing, 19 receiving) with a rushing touchdown to help lead Houston to a 29-27 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

Defense: Greg Rousseau, Buffalo Bills

Rousseau played a pivotal role in the Bills' 34-28 comeback victory over the Arizona Cardinals, recording six tackles and three sacks. The defensive end forced a third-quarter fumble that led to Buffalo's go-ahead touchdown.

Special teams: Chris Boswell, Pittsburgh Steelers

All of the Steelers' points in their 18-10 win against the Atlanta Falcons were scored by Pittsburgh kicker Boswell, with six field goals on the day. Five of those FGs were 40 yards or longer.

NFC

Offense: Saquon Barkey, Philadelphia Eagles

Barkley scored three touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving) in the Eagles' 34-29 defeat of the Green Bay Packers in Brazil. The running back totaled 132 scrimmage yards (109 rushing, 23 receiving) in his Philadelphia debut.

Defense: Tyrique Stevenson, Chicago Bears

Stevenson scored the winning touchdown with a 43-yard pick-six midway through the fourth quarter of Chicago's 24-17 comeback voctory over the Tennessee Titans. The defensive back also recorded four tackles.

Special teams: Jake Moody, San Francisco 49ers

Moody scored a league-high 20 points in the Niners' 32-19 win against the New York Jets on Monday Night Football. The kicker converted all six of his field goal attempts.
