After weeks of speculating, NFL wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins finally settled on a new team for the 2023 season in the shape of the Tennessee Titans.

The move raised a couple of eyebrows, as Hopkins had previously discussed his desire to join a team with Super Bowl winning credentials in this upcoming season.

According to BetVictor, only three of the NFL's 32 franchises are less likely to win the Super Bowl next season than the Titans - the Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals.

So why did Hopkins decide to spend next season in Nashville?

Speaking to the team's official website, Hopkins said the chance to work with head coach Mike Vrabel and offensive coordinator Tim Kelly once again was a key factor is joining the Titans.

"As soon as the offseason hit and I knew I was possibly going to be traded, this was a team that was on my list of places that I wanted to play because of the history Mike Vrabel and I have, the history Tim Kelly and I have," said Hopkins.

"I wanted to be somewhere where I knew people had my best interests, not just on the field but off the field as well.

"Vrabel is a straight shooter, and over my career he has always checked in on me.

"Even when I was in Houston, he was a defensive coach, but he would still check on me just to see how I was doing – that always stuck with me, and I always wanted to be around people like that."

Hopkins will be entering his 11th season in the NFL, having totalled 853 receptions for 11,298 yards and 71 touchdowns so far in his career.
