Jayden Daniels has arrived and he picked the national spotlight of Monday Night Football to show off.
The No. 2 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft delivered a near-perfect performance by completing 21-of-23 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for another score in leading the Washington Commanders to a 38-33 road win over the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium.
Daniels' 4-yard touchdown rush during the second quarter helped the Commanders take a 21-13 lead into halftime but the rookie quarterback out of LSU was just getting started.
The third quarter had Daniels finding Trent Scott for a 1-yard touchdown pass before he authored a back-breaking 12-play, 70-yard drive culminating in a 27-yard touchdown pass to Terry McLaurin in the fourth.
By the end of the spectacular performance, Daniels' final stat line said it all:
With the victory, the Commanders improve to 2-1, while Joe Burrow and the Bengals fell to 0-3.
The Commanders' win over the Bengals was part of a Monday Night Football doubleheader which also had the Buffalo Bills destroy the Jacksonville Jaguars, 47-10.
