The second-round pick could be in for a big season.

The Los Angeles Chargers are heading into the start of a new era under head coach Jim Harbaugh in 2024.

The Bolts have a renewed sense of confidence with the veteran head coach back at the franchise he spent two years with as a player.

The AFC West franchise is expected to be a run-heavy offense with offensive coordinator Greg Roman joining Harbaugh in LA.

But it goes without saying that they will still need to throw the football, and there are concerns about the receiving room.

Gone are Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, leaving a depth chart consisting of Josh Palmer, Quentin Johnston, DJ Chark Jr. and rookies Ladd McConkey, Brendan Rice and Cornelius Johnson.

As a group they are one of the least experienced in the league, with just 412 NFL receptions combined.

But in Justin Herbert the Chargers have an elite quarterback, and Herbert has been talking up rookie McConkey.

"He's just picked up the offense so easily," said Herbert told ESPN.

"It's like he's been a four or five-year vet. He understands the game."

McConkey, 22, was the Chargers' second-round pick and has the chance to be the franchise's top pass-catching option in his rookie season.
