Saquon Barkley was greeted at MetLife Stadium to a chorus of boos on Sunday, but the Philadelphia Eagles running back got the last laugh.

Barkley was making his return to the stadium he called home for the past six seasons as he was drafted by the New York Giants in 2018 and immediately became a star, winning the NFL Offensive Rooke of the Year award that season and earning two Pro Bowl selections during his time with the team.

However, Barkley jumped ship to the Giants' biggest rivals over the past offseason, signing a three-year, $37.75 million deal with the Eagles to become one of the centerpieces of Philadelphia's offense. The 27-year-old quickly adjusted to life as an Eagle, and on Sunday he made his first visit to MetLife Stadium as a member of the Philadelphia team.

Barkey already made a good first impression with the Eagles but he saved his best performance of the season so far for this match-up against his old team, running for a season-high 176 rushing yards on 17 carries to lead Philadellphia to a 28-3 victory over their NFC East foes.

To add insult to injury, the woeful Giants offense wasn't even able to muster up a touchdown on home turf, keeping their total number of TDs scored this season at the Meadowlands at one — the same number Barkley has after his 3-yard rumble in the end zone in the second quarter, which also happened to be the game-winning score.

Sunday's win moved Philadelphia into a temporary tie atop the division standings. Meanwhile, the Giants remain in the NFC East basement with four losses at home already.
