Six NFL teams that need a new quarterback through the draft or free agency

While the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles get set to meet in Super Bowl LIX next month, the rest of the NFL is already hard at work preparing for the 2025 season.

Free agency and the draft present opportunities to restock rosters, with a number of teams hoping to land their next franchise quarterback in the coming months.

DAZN News takes a look at which teams are likely to be in the market for a new signal-caller this offseason.

Tennessee Titans (Number 1 draft pick, $50.3m projected salary cap space)

The Titans have the first pick of the NFL draft and the opportunity to select the college game’s best QB, whether that is seen as Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders or another late riser.

Will Levis has been given plenty of opportunities to prove himself with the Titans, but his inconsistency, poor accuracy and struggles when the pressure was on during a poor 3-14 campaign, plus recent comments from Titans president Chad Brinker suggest the team will move on.

"We won't pass on a generational talent with the first pick in the NFL draft," Brinker said last week

Cleveland Browns (Number 2 draft pick, -$32.7m projected salary cap space)

For the first time since 2021 the Browns will have a first-round draft pick and it’s a high one, as they will be second on the board after a disastrous 3-14 season.

Another injury to Deshaun Watson appears to be the final nail in the coffin of what will go down as the worst trade in NFL history, and while the Browns have plenty of needs going into the offseason, a new QB should be near the top of that list.

New York Giants (Number 3 draft pick, $47.7m projected salary cap space)

The Giants select third in April’s draft and are in dire need of a new quarterback after cutting ties with Daniel Jones during the regular season.

It would be a big surprise if they don’t use the draft to address this need and they will hope that either Ward, Sanders or both will still be in play by the time they turn in their card.

Las Vegas Raiders (Number 6 draft pick, $92.9m projected salary cap space)

It was always going to be a stretch to convince themselves that a combination of Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell would set the Raiders up for future success, with a 4-13 campaign the result of failing to nail down a franchise quarterback.

Pete Carroll had been in the door for five minutes before the Russell Wilson rumours started, but even if there was a Seahawks reunion in Vegas next year, the Raiders will likely target a rookie at some point. Could minority owner Tom Brady’s growing influence see a splashy move for Sanders happen?

New York Jets (Number 7 draft pick, $12m projected salary cap space)

New head coach Aaron Glenn has said he wants to quickly resolve the question mark over Aaron Rodgers’ future, but regardless of whether or not the 41-year-old returns for a third season in the Big Apple, fresh blood is needed in the position.

Should Rodgers go, then don’t be surprised if the Jets make some bold moves and trade away big name players to obtain draft assets and become a key player during the three-day event which takes place in Green Bay in April.

Pittsburgh Steelers (Number 21 draft pick, $37.4m projected cap space)

The Steelers’ bargain QB room of Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are both due to become free agents in the spring and it’s debatable whether either did enough to earn a new deal, despite the team earning a playoff spot.

That Wild Card round defeat means Pittsburgh will be selecting 21st in the draft, putting them out of contention for a high-end rookie, so we could see them make a free agent move alongside the drafting of a more developmental prospect.
