Superstar tight end Travis Kelce took a shot at the New York Jets following the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl win.
Wide receiver Mecole Hardman caught the game-winning touchdown. Hardman started the season on the Jets roster.
Hardman did not feature for the Jets. He was on the roster for five games, starting zero and catching one pass. The Jets often had Hardman down as the fifth or sixth-choice wide receiver on their roster.
New York duly sent Hardman back to Kansas City in October. Hardman only started two regular season games but came up big in the Super Bowl.
Hardman caught three passes for 57 yards and the game-winning touchdown.
Speaking to the press after the game, Travis Kelce said, "I'm just happy for my guy, man; I'll tell ya, it brought me to tears that he was the man that got us this ring, man.
"Mecole, he's one of my favorite teammates ever because he keeps showing up and trying to find ways to win."
Kelce continued, "Everyone counted him out, even the Jets counted him out."
Hardman's Super Bowl success is a final gut punch to the Jets. New York finished a disastrous season 7-10, missing out on a playoff berth.
