The Cleveland Browns hopes for a successful season have been dealt a blow after star running back Nick Chubb picked up a season ending injury.
The Browns were in action on Monday night when they faced AFC North rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the former was on the wrong end of a 26-22 loss.
But while a loss to the Steelers will be hard to stomach for Browns fans, they will be more concerned about Chubb and how long it will take him to recover from this latest setback.
What injury to Nick Chubb sustain?
Nick Chubb suffered a serious knee injury during his team's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The injury took place in the early stages of the second quarter when Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick came in low for a tackle on Chubb's left knee while his leg was still planted on the turf.
Chubb remained on the ground for several minutes before being carted off and Fitzpatrick also needed medical attention.
This is not the first time Chubb has suffered a serious injury on his left knee, in 2015 while playing for Georgia, the running back sustained a dislocation with three torn ligaments which forced him to miss the second half of his sophomore year.
How long will Nick Chubb be injured for?
Following the game, Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that Nick Chubb will miss the rest of the season.
Therefore, don't expect to see Chubb in a Browns jersey until preparations for the 2024 season get underway.
Who will replace Nick Chubb at running back?
Following Nick Chubb's injury, Jerome Ford came in as the Cleveland Browns' main running back who caught a 3-yard touchdown pass.
In addition to the touchdown, Ford had 16 carries for 106 yards, but now Ford needs to deliver even bigger numbers as he looks to fill the huge void left by a player who has never missed more than four games in an NFL season.
