The road to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans will be mapped out this week when the NFL release the 2024 season schedule.
The Kansas City Chiefs saw off all-comers last season to win their third Super Bowl in four years, but the NFL’s other 31 teams will all be gunning for Patrick Mahomes and company when the season gets underway in September.
We already know who will be playing in the first two games of the season - and there won’t be long until the other 270 regular season contests are unveiled. Here’s all you need to know.
When will the 2024 NFL schedule be released? Date, start time
The 2024 NFL schedule will be unveiled at 8 p.m. ET / 1 a.m. BST on Wednesday, May 15 on NFL Network.
What games have been announced already?
The NFL announced that the season opener will see the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs host the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, September 5, in a rematch of last season's AFC Championship game.
We also know that Brazil will host its first-ever NFL game on Friday, September 6, when the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Green Bay Packers in Sao Paulo.
The NFL has also confirmed that the Dallas Cowboys will visit the Cleveland Browns in Week One in a match that will see Tom Brady's broadcasting debut, while the first Monday Night Football clash of the season is a mouthwatering match that sees the San Francisco 49ers host the New York Jets.
The Chiefs' Week Two fixture has also been revealed, with the Super Bowl champions hosting the Cincinnati Bengals, while the Buffalo Bills will visit the Miami Dolphins for Week Two's Thursday Night Football clash on September 12.
What about the International Series?
As well as the aforementioned clash in Brazil, we know that the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars will host games in London, while the Carolina Panthers will be the allocated home team for a match in Munich.
These 2024 International Games will be revealed on a special Schedule Release edition of 'Good Morning Football' on Wednesday, May 15 which begins at 7am ET (12noon UK).
What else is there to look out for?
The NFL will be playing a Christmas Day doubleheader, despite the big day falling on a Wednesday.
