Malik Willis and Will Levis are competing for the back-up job.

The Tennessee Titans' preseason started with a defeat against Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.

Tennessee led at half-time but could not get anything going on offense in the second half as three Cairo Santos field goals helped the Bears to a 23-17 win.

Both Malik Willis and Will Levis were given drives to audition for the back-up quarterback role behind starter Ryan Tannehill, but who took advantage?

Neither will be totally happy with their performance on Saturday afternoon, as both made mistakes at crucial moments which were costly.

But of the two it was sophomore Willis who out-performed rookie Levis in Chicago.

The game started in perfect fashion for Willis, who drove the Titans the length of the field before running in the game's opening touchdown on a run-pass option play.

That was as good as it got for Willis however, as he also threw an interception early in the second quarter and fumbled the football for a turnover on his next drive.

Levis also drove the Titans to one touchdown in the game, though he was helped by strong runs from Hassan Haskins and Tyjae Spears.

The rookie also threw an interception on the Titans' final drive of the game deep in the fourth quarter which sealed the win for the Bears.

In total Willis completed 16 of 25 passes for 189 yards and an interception, as well as rushing for 22 yards and a touchdown on three carries.

Levis managed just 85 yards through the air off nine completions from 14 attempts while adding six yards on the ground.

Both will be hoping for a better performance when they travel to face the Minnesota Vikings next weekend.
