The Kansas City Chiefs have successfully repeated as Super Bowl champions. The Chiefs bested the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl 58.
A 25-22 final score was enough for Kansas City to become the first repeat Super Bowl winners since the 2004-2005 New England Patriots.
A fraught and frantic first half saw the 49ers lead 10-3, but the Chiefs scored ten unanswered third-quarter points to haul themselves back into the game.
San Francisco bounced back with a fourth-quarter touchdown to help send the game into overtime.
The 49ers won the overtime coin toss and received the ball first. They settled for a field goal, allowing Kansas City the opportunity to win it with a walk-off touchdown.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes marched the Chiefs downfield and found Mecole Hardman for the game-winning score.
Mahomes threw for 333 yards and two touchdowns, good enough for a third Super Bowl MVP Award. It is the Chiefs' third Super Bowl win.
