Week eight of the NFL season ends with a Monday Night Football matchup between the Detroit Lions and Las Vegas Raiders. All eyes are on Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and his injury status ahead of this game.
Jimmy Garoppolo aims to return from injury this Monday night against the Lions. The experienced quarterback exited Las Vegas' game against the New England Patriots two weeks ago with a back injury. Such was the severity of the injury; the medical team transported Garoppolo straight to a local hospital while the game was going on.
Garoppolo then missed the Raiders' 30-12 loss to the Chicago Bears, and the team is desperate for him to return. With the game getting played on Monday night, Garoppolo will get a few extra days to prove his fitness.
Garoppolo was a limited participant during Thursday's practice session and provided a positive update afterwards. Garoppolo told reporters, "Feeling good. It felt good out there today."
Head coach Josh McDaniels stated he was 'hopeful' that Garoppolo's fitness would continue to trend upward and that he would be available to start on Monday, barring any new setbacks.
Garoppolo has experienced many injury issues since 2020, but he is confident and looking forward to playing against Detroit. Garoppolo said, "I don't enjoy it by any means, but it is what it is. Now, I'm trying to prepare for Detroit, and it's a big one this week for us."
