A former world champion has this advice for Jaron Ennis increasing his star powerDAZN
"Boots" is on the precipice of achieving greatness.

Jaron Ennis is fresh off his fifth-round TKO of David Avanesyan over the weekend and one former welterweight world champion has a way for "Boots" to increase his star profile — more activity.

Shawn Porter believes the reigning IBF welterweight world titleholder can continue to grow his name by fighting more and "Showtime" believes his opponents' names and profiles don't even matter at this point for that to happen.

"He's not going 12 rounds," Porter reasoned on his "The PorterWay Podcast," referring to Ennis' skillful boxing gaining momentum and being so dominant. "Nobody is going to take him 12 rounds.

"You're not going to get the big fight. You're not getting [Terence] Crawford," Porter continued. "Outside of Crawford, what other big name fight is there? We want to say Vergil Ortiz is a big name at 154? OK, cool."

He added: "Keep knocking them out. Stay busy. That's how he's going to create a name for himself. Stay busy. It don't matter [if] they don't know who [you're fighting]."

Porter believes that Ennis is in such a zone that people will continue to crave to see his masterful boxing displays.

"Just put him in the ring," he insisted. "They'll show up. Stop worrying about who's the pay-per-view draw.

"I don't think I'm wrong in saying that 'Boots' is pretty untouchable."

Ennis' victory over Avanesyan had the champ nearly tripling his challenger's punches landed at 152 to 53. Prior to defeating Avanesyan, Ennis hadn't fought since July 2023.
