Adrien Broner is a 'perfect' fight for Conor Benn, believes Eddie HearnMatchroom Boxing
The Matchroom head believes that the former welterweight champion is the perfect night fight for Benn.

A frustrated Conor Benn is being lined up by Eddie Hearn for a fight against Adrien Broner.

Benn defeated Adrian Granados in what was a one-sided affair with the Mexican happy to sit back against his 24-year-old opponent in a fight on DAZN.

Benn retained his WBA continental welterweight title, and was visibly angered during the fight over the reticence of Granados.

“It was very frustrating,” he admitted.

“He was talking like we were going to come together like trucks and it was going to be a great fight for the fans, and he was on his bike the whole time.

“I was ready to go toe to toe and let him have it. You know when a Mexican doesn’t want to engage, you know you can half-dig.”

Hearn was asked about a potential fight with Broner, who last fought in early 2020, and the Matchroom head was keen.

“Perfect fight for him,” he agreed.

“He was frustrated because he wanted to come out and do his normal destruction job. It doesn’t always work like that, Granados comes to survive. Conor needs to do rounds, that was a solid 10 rounds in the bank.”
