Amir Khan has played a major role in the resurgence of boxing in the UK.
After winning silver at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Khan signalled a bright future for the sport.
His fast hands made him a must watch for fight fans across the world, and after turning professional in 2005, Khan would go on to win world titles at super lightweight.
The Bolton man also had the opportunity to share the ring with some of boxing's biggest names including former undisputed super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Marco Antonio Barrera, but when it came to discussing his most memorable fight, neither Alvarez or Barrera featured in Khan's pick.
"The most memorable fight I had was against Andreas Kotelnik," Khan told Action Network.
"That was my first fight winning a world title and always in my mind was that I wanted to win a belt. You have all these Mickey Mouse belts and the non-boxing fans are going to think that’s a world title but when you get your first world title and you know you’re not lying to yourself, I knew that was my time at the age of 22.
"I earned it and I will always remember that fight. Then I fought against Maidana and became the WBA super champion because he was the number one and then I fought against Zab Judah and won the IBF title.
"World titles are world titles and people need to know the difference with titles. They will always be part of my life."
Khan's boxing career as a professional came to an end in 2022 when he lost to rival Kell Brook by stoppage in their long-awaited grudge match in Manchester, this result left his record at 34-6 with 21 of those wins coming by way of knockout.
