Could Amir Khan be about to exercise his right to a rematch with Kell Brook? The former world champion was dominated and stopped by his great rival last month in Manchester prompting calls from the boxing community for Khan to close the door on his outstanding career.
Despite having many backers heading into the contest, Khan was never in the fight as he was repeatedly hurt before being halted by Brook in the sixth session. The one-sided nature of the beating brought wide concern for Khan as all his hard nights appeared to have caught up with him.
With retirement from the sport he has dedicated his life to mentioned frequently in the aftermath of his loss to Brook, Khan’s time in the sport seemed expired. It doesn’t look certain at this point following an Instagram from Khan’s brother, Haroon.
"It wasn’t the result we wanted," wrote Haroon, and ex-fighter himself.
“No excuses but that isn’t the way ‘AK’ was that night but the heart he showed and what he gives to the fans is what matters. Bring on the rematch and let’s get things changed and get the win."
