Andy Ruiz provides update on Anthony Joshua trilogy fight after speaking with former opponentDAZN

Andy Ruiz has not given up hope of securing a trilogy meeting with Anthony Joshua after speaking to his former rival recently.

The pair traded wins in 2019 when Ruiz became the first man to defeat Joshua in June of that year before the Brit settled the score via a dull points win six months later to become a two-time heavyweight champion.

Despite their series only taking place in the last three and half years, a lot has changed in the careers of both men.

Joshua has lost back-to-back fights to Oleksandr Usyk whole Ruiz has rebuilt his reputation with wins against Chris Arreola and Luis Ortiz.

With both men eager to secure another world title opportunity, could a third meeting get either man closer?

“I’m trying to get those titles back. I just spoke to Anthony Joshua, he told me he wants to make something happen, he wants to make the trilogy,” said Ruiz when speaking to Intu Boxing.

“That’d be pretty cool. I just brought it up, but that’s how things happen, and fights get made, so we’ll see.”
