Andy Ruiz is in for a tough night when he faces Jarrell Miller in Los Angeles on August 3 on the huge Israil Madrimov vs. Terence Crawford bill.
That’s the verdict of Eddie Hearn, a boxing figure who’s fully aware of the threat posed by both Miller and Ruiz.
Since stepping in for Miller to face Anthony Joshua in 2019, Ruiz’s profile has risen significantly following his upset win over the British fighter.
A loss to AJ in an immediate rematch has been followed by spells of inactivity, and Hearn has had his say on the bout.
“I actually think this is a really tough fight for Andy Ruiz. It’s going to be all action,” said Hearn when speaking to Matchroom Boxing.
“Jarrell Miller is always going to be on the front foot, always comes to fight, and Andy is a very sharp counter-puncher as well, but he’s been out of the ring for a long time.
“There’s going to be huge support for him in Los Angeles, but he better have hunger in his belly for this fight because otherwise, he’ll get overrun by Jarrell Miller.”
