Joe Cordina believes Anthony Cacace has what it takes to get past Josh Warrington when the pair collide later this year.
Cacace defeated Cordina earlier this year to become world super-featherweight champion and he’ll make his first defence against Warrington at Wembley Stadium on September 21.
Cacace caused a huge shock when he stopped Cordina to inflict a first career defeat on the talented Welshman.
Cordina had been hoping to secure a rematch against his recent conqueror, but he’ll have to make do with watching his former rival defend his belt against Warrington and he’s had his say on that matchup.
“I think it’ll make for a good fight. I don’t know how much Warrington’s got left, but it’ll be a good fight, because Warrington always brings it, doesn’t he?” said Cordina when speaking to Boxing Scene.
“I’ve got to back Cacace, because he beat me, and to be honest, I’d wipe the floor with Warrington. I’d have to back Cacace.”
