Anthony Joshua must make huge changes to beat Oleksandr Usyk, claims Eddie HearnMatchroom Boxing
The Matchroom head must guide his fighter to win in a rematch.

Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn believes Anthony Joshua has lots of work to do to win any rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

Ukrainian fighter Usyk is now the IBF, WBA and WBO champion after a comfortable and intelligent victory over the 31-year-old Briton. There is a rematch clause between the pair but given Usyk’s dominant showing there are doubts that Joshua can come back as easily as he did to avenge his defeat to Andy Ruiz in 2019.

Speaking to the BBC after the fight, Hearn said that, "He will have to make fundamental changes, he will have to box differently.

"I can't see AJ taking a 10-round fight, he boxes twice a year and maybe that is something we will have to look at.

"He is going to go away and all he will do is think about Oleksandr Usyk. He will be thinking: 'How can I beat him, how can I improve?' He is obsessed with improving.

"I just feel there is so much more to Anthony Joshua in that fight but he will have to do a lot more in the rematch to be victorious."
