Amir Khan believes Anthony Joshua can become a three-time heavyweight champion if he shows the qualities that got him the win against Otto Wallin last year.
Joshua faces Daniel Dubois this weekend, live on DAZN, and Khan is the latest high-profile fighter to have his say on what promises to be an exciting contest.
Joshua enters the bout in superb form following four straight wins including a dominant stoppage victory against Wallin last December.
That performance impressed Khan, and even though he’s beaten Francis Ngannou since the Wallin contest, Khan has described the 2023 success as being ‘perfect’ and thinks it could be the way to defeat Dubois.
“It’s a really hard fight; it’s who lands first. I think if Joshua lands with a good shot, he’s got the attributes to finish Dubois,” said Khan when speaking to Action Network.
“Both fighters have the power, speed, and everything to win the fight but if Joshua boxes the way he won the last fight against Otto Wallin which really impressed me, and it was punch perfect.
“That’s what he needs to do, stick to his boxing, stick to his skills, hit and move, then I think that’ll be the best Joshua and he can get the win that way.”
Khan added, “But if he gets into a brawl, this is where Dubois can start because he is a solid guy and hasn’t been tested in that sense where has been hurt.”
