Anthony Joshua will have his first bout of 2024 on March 8 when he goes in with former UFC superstar, Francis Ngannou.
Joshua enjoyed a stellar 12 months last year when rebuilding from back-to-back losses against Oleksandr Usyk as he picked up one-sided wins over Jermaine Franklin, Robert Helenius, and Otto Wallin.
Next up for Joshua is Ngannou and the Cameroonian made an immediate impact when making his professional boxing debut last October.
Ngannou dropped Tyson Fury before losing narrowly on points and his reward for that performance is a contest with Joshua. Zhilei Zhang, a leading contender at heavyweight, has had his say on the bout.
“I think, from my perspective, that is a ten-round exhibition. A lot of people are going to tune in to watch that fight because they want to see boxing versus MMA, Joshua versus Ngannou, two famous athletes going at each other,” said Zhang when speaking to FightHype.
“To me, there is no question that Joshua will get the victory and it’s just, like I said, a ten-round exhibition and if you really look at it from boxing perspective, you know who the main-event will be.”
