Anthony Joshua could be missing trainer Rob McCracken for the planned fight with Tyson Fury, Eddie Hearn claimed.
McCracken is due to take part in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics rescheduled to this July/August after the postponement caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
A Saudi Arabian fight is set to be confirmed for the first Joshua-Fury fight, with late July/early August currently put forward as the potential date for the two heavyweights to meet and decide who is the undisputed champion of the world.
That may lead to McCracken having to choose between his Olympic obligations and Joshua’s fight.
"With all the hard work that has gone in, the date will be the date," Hearn confirmed to Sky Sports.
"The site is putting up a lot of money for this fight and they will give the date that is most effective, efficient for them. That is around the same time as the Olympics. Will the Olympics even take place? Who knows?
"But we've got to find a solution but that's a conversation between Joshua and [his management] 258 and the training team. McCracken is an integral part of the training team and AJ, of course, will want him there. I'll let those guys talk.
"I've got to deliver the deal. If we can work around [McCracken's potential absence], then fantastic. If we need to have a difficult conversation? That's over to those guys."
The Matchroom head does not believe that McCracken’s absence would cause the fight plans to be abandoned at this stage, though Fury's promoter Bob Arum is less sure.
"No. Right now we need to deliver the fight and the date, and to find a solution,” he explained.
"If there is a clash, there is a conversation to be had. That's their side of the business."
