Arslanbek Makhmudov is not counting on a knockout win against Guido Vianello this Saturday.
The two heavyweights fight in Montreal (live on ESPN+ in the US), nine years after they met in the amateurs.
Makhmudov won that clash with a fourth-round stoppage, and he is aiming to secure victory a second time.
However, the 35-year-old is not counting on bringing the fight to a close within the distance.
"I never can say that," Makhmudov told Sky Sports. "I always have one goal, to destroy him, anyone who comes against me. This is what I want to do, inshallah, and we will see.
"I don't know what he's going to do, but he fights more like a typical amateur fighter. He has very good footwork and a good jab, so we're going to do something to win."
