Marc Ramsay has played a vital role in the incredible elevation of Artur Beterbiev as the well-respected trainer has taken his charge to the undisputed light-heavyweight title.

Last October, Beterbiev maintained his unbeaten record with a solid win over Dmitry Bivol in a contest that was absorbing throughout

The pair split opinion in the build-up and you could see why when the action got underway as both had legitimate cases to be declared the winner.

In the end, it was Beterbiev who had his arm raised as the judges seemingly preferred his aggressive approach in the fight’s second half.

On Feb 22, the pair will clash again, live on DAZN, in an eagerly anticipated rematch that has the entire boxing world excited

Ramsay, who has an extraordinary bond with his fighter after watching him stop 20 of his 21 opponents, has revealed whether Bivol was Beterbiev’s toughest opponent.

The four-belt champion has shared the ring with numerous quality operators, but it is Bivol who has been the only one to take him the distance.

The former world champion has defeated high quality names such as Canelo Alvarez and Gilberto Ramirez, and Ramsay has now spoken about whether he was Beterbiev’s most difficult task

“Maybe. Each opponent is a different piece of the puzzle,” said Ramsay when speaking to DAZN News

If we talk about who was the strongest physically, we would mention Anthony Yarde or Callum Johnson. Those guys were extremely strong physically.

“There have also been more technical boxers like [Oleksandr ] Gvozdyk or Bivol. From a technical standpoint, there is no doubt.”
