Artur Beterbiev's trainer provides major update on potential clash with Jai OpetaiaDAZN

Artur Beterbiev has a huge chance to enhance his legacy on Feb 22 when he faces Dmitry Bivol for a second time

The pair will meet, live on DAZN, and undisputed light-heavyweight glory will be on the line for two of boxing’s greatest fighters.

Last October, Beterbiev and Bivol competed in one of the year’s biggest fights as they both brought their best to crown the first even four-belt champion at 175lbs

After a good start, Bivol’s lead was cut in the fight’s second half, and it was Beterbiev who was declared the winner.

With the fighters ready to do it all again, what is out there for Beterbiev if he manages to secure victory for a second time?

One potential option could be the winner of Joshua Buatsi and Callum Smith, who clash on the undercard, and Beterbiev already holds a win over Smith.

Canelo Alvarez, David Morrell, and Dabid Benavidez are also options, with the latter two set to do battle this weekend

One name also mentioned is Jai Opetaia, but that would require Beterbiev to make the jump to cruiserweight.

The Australian fighter has built himself a great reputation as the world’s best cruiserweight , and Marc Ramsay, the trainer of Beterbiev has had his say on whether his fighter could go up in weight?

“Even though we do not want to make predictions, we also do not want to close any doors. All possibilities are open,” said Ramsay

“After each victory, we go back to the drawing board and assess our options, our conditions, and whether it is feasible.”
