Artur Beterbiev vs. Callum Smith: Champion denies claims after Anthony Yarde fightDAZN
There's a title fight in Canada tonight.

Artur Beterbiev believes he showed no weaknesses against Anthony Yarde last year.

Beterbiev secured a knockout victory over the challenger in the eighth round, and while it maintained his 100% stoppage record, some observers thought that the champion showed signs that he was slowing down.

At 38, it would be a surprise if there were not some kind of decline in his abilities, but he remains favourite ahead of his fight tonight.

That sees him come up against another British fighter, this time former super middleweight champion Callum Smith.

Speaking to,  Sky Sports  ahead of the bout Beterbiev rejected the idea he had shown any chinks in his armour.

"I think the team of Yarde, they prepared very well," Beterbiev said. "I think they did a good job for this fight.

"We prepared too, very well, and we know the result.

"My team prepared a little bit better than him."

However, looking to the fight at hand, he admitted: "You never know how it's going during the fight. That's why sometimes you step back to go forward.

"It's interesting. Even for me it's interesting always, how it's going."
