Light heavyweight supremacy will finally be decided on October 12.

Excitement amongst the boxing world is reaching fever pitch ahead of the light heavyweight showdown between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.

The pair will meet for the undisputed light heavyweight title on October 12, live on DAZN Pay-Per-View, in a contest which many fans have been craving for a number of years.

One of the main reasons for this excitement is that it sees Beterbiev's hard-hitting style go up against the slick footwork of Bivol which have comfortably put both men firmly at the top of the light heavyweight division.

Beterbiev vs. Bivol fight card

  • Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol
  • Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Kamil Szeremeta
  • Fabio Wardley vs. Frazer Clarke
  • Jai Opetaia vs. Jack Massey
  • Ben Whittaker vs. Liam Cameron
  • Skye Nicolson vs. Raven Chapman
  • Mohammaed Alakel vs. Jesus Gonzalez

There will be plenty at stake come the opening bell, not only will Beterbiev and Bivol be putting their undefeated records on the line, the former will also be looking to extend his 100% knockout record as well.

Former WBC light heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Gvozdyk, who fought Beterbiev in 2019, had one piece of crucial advice for Bivol ahead of what will be the biggest fight of his career when it came to avoiding to the dynamite in the unified light heavyweight champion's fists.

“Don’t let him punch you and work your [backside] hard,” Gvozdyk told Round Eight Boxing

“Run away because it’s not a good idea to stay against the ropes against him."

When Gvozdyk fought Beterbiev five years, the Ukrainian faded in the latter stages of the contest in Philadelphia with Beterbiev knocking down his opponent three times in round 10 before the contest was stopped.

Beterbiev will be hoping to produce something similar against Bivol in a fight which headlines a stacked undercard which features Fabio Wardley's British heavyweight title rematch with Frazer Clarke, Chris Eubank Jr., Ben Whittaker and WBC women's featherweight champion Skye Nicolson.
