David Benavidez believes he can secure a win over Canelo Alvarez and he’s now backing a man who has defeated the Mexican to register victory in his next fight.
On October 12, live on DAZN , Dmitry Bivol will be hoping to build on his success against Canelo when he looks to become undisputed light-heavyweight champion against Artur Beterbiev.
It’s a fight that has the entire boxing world split as Bivol’s skill will be going up against the brute force of Beterbiev.
Both fighters are unbeaten, but Beterbiev enters the bout the puncher thanks to his stunning record which boasts 20 stoppages from as many fights, with wins over quality operators such as Oleksandr Gvozdyk and Callum Smith.
Despite those notable victories, it’s Bivol who comes into the contest with the biggest name on his record thanks to his 2022 fight with Canelo.
Bivol was too good as he retained his world title, and a win over Beterbiev will enhance his lofty standing in the sport even more.

A contender at 175lbs, Benavidez is the latest high profile boxing figure to have his say on the showdown and he’s leaning towards Bivol.
After reigning as world champion at super-middleweight, Benavidez had been hopeful of landing a fight with Canelo, but it now appears his focus is on his new weight class and that will make him a keen observer when Beterbiev vs. Bivol finally gets underway.
“I think Bivol has a slight edge, but I don’t know,” said Benavidez when discussing the fight with Pro Boxing Fans .
“It’s a 50-50 fight. It’s going to be a great fight, but I think Bivol might take off with a victory."
