With their much-hyped fight just around the corner, the two men were not in the mood to play nice at their press conference.

Ben Whittaker and Liam Cameron traded barbs at their press conference on Thursday before Riyadh Season's IV Crown Showdown live on DAZN this weekend.

The two will go head-to-head on the undercard of Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol's undisputed light-heavyweight championship battle at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia.

Whittaker has built a reputation for his antics and showboating performances inside and out of the ring, and proved no different as he sparred verbally with his rival.

After Cameron dubbed himself the "Sheffield Beterbiev", the Tokyo 2020 silver-medalist went on the attack, lambasting his foe and outlining his plans for the fight.

"All the yapping is over now," he said. "The hard work has been done. Saturday, I’m going to turn up in good shape. I’m feeling smooth, I’m feeling sharp.

"You said you were the Sheffield Beterbiev. That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Be yourself, turn up Saturday and I’ll punch that big-arse nose off your face."

Cameron countered, addressing Whittaker's ego, adding: "You’re cocky, mate. Nobody likes you in British boxing. No-one likes you."

But Whittaker fired back again himself, stating: "That’s because I work so hard. Three times a day. It’s going to be a long night for you. I hope you make it home nice and safe."

The two will contest the second fight of the card when they meet on Saturday, as Whittaker looks to further build his reputation in the light-heavyweight division.
