A big night of boxing will light up Philadelphia this weekend as two of boxing’s biggest names will be in action on a huge show, live on DAZN. With DAZN's Black Friday offer, sign up now for a huge saving on a subscription.
Jaron Ennis, one of Philadelphia’s brightest talents, will look to entertain his hometown crowd as he defends his IBF welterweight title against Karen Chukhadzhyan.
Joining him on the show will Jesse Rodriguez, and he’ll also be putting his belt on the line as his WBC super-flyweight belt will be up for grabs against Pedro Guevara.
Here, DAZN looks at what might happen in one of boxing’s most famous fight cities.
Jaron Ennis vs. Karen Chukhadzhyan
Amanda Westcott/Matchroom Boxing
The last step on the road for Ennis before the major fights occur for him in 2025.
Ennis is already aware of what lies in front of him this weekend as he faced Chukhadzhyan last year in a contest that he dominated from start to finish.
The local favourite has got his eyes fixed on huge battles next year against the likes of Terence Crawford and Vergil Ortiz so he can’t afford to slip up here.
Chukhadzhyan didn’t show anything against Ennis the last time they fought and that’s unlikely to change here so expect the champion to send his fans home happy with either a late stoppage or wide points victory.
Jesse Rodriguez vs. Pedro Guevara
Melina Pizano/Matchroom
Rodriguez only knows tough fights, but this one appears to be a little more routine than what he’s faced in recent years.
After bursting onto the scene when defeating Carlos Cuadras in 2022, Bam has become one of boxing’s biggest names by constantly shining in huge fights.
In the past 12 months alone, Rodriguez has defeated Sunny Edwards and Juan Francisco Estrada, but he should find Guevara a bit easier to navigate.
The Mexican veteran has enjoyed success at light-flyweight, but he’ll struggle to make a dent in Rodriguez who can close the show by the halfway point.
Raymond Ford vs. Orlando Gonzalez
Ed Mulholland/Matchroom
It’s a new weight class for Ford who moves to super-featherweight after losing his world title to Nick Ball earlier this year at featherweight.
Ford is eager to be back amongst the world title picture and victory over Gonzalez can help him reach that level.
The Puerto Rican is a tough campaigner, but a previous visit to world level saw him outpointed by the highly rated Robeisy Ramirez in 2021.
If Ford is to prove that he’s serious about another world title charge then he needs to move past Gonzalez, and he can do that with a comprehensive points victory.
