A new ruler has been crowned.

Anthony Olascuaga produced the performance of his career to become WBO flyweight champion with a stunning third-round knockout over Riku Kano in Japan.

The win ensures that the American fighter holds a world title in only his eighth fight following an eventful start to his professional career.

Last year, Olascuaga attempted to become world ruler at light-flyweight, but his ambitions were ruined when he was stopped by Kenshiro Teraji.

The setback has inspired Olascuaga to push on and he’s used the experience to score a major win.

Olascuaga began the bout well and was able to find the target on Kano very early in the fight.

A well-timed left uppercut was enough to do the damage as Kano hit the deck and was unable to beat the count.
