One fighter has been left disappointed ahead of this week's show.

Josh Warrington’s dreams of becoming world champion in a second weight class have been dashed ahead of his upcoming battle with Anthony Cacace.

The intriguing clash, live on DAZN this weekend, will support the huge heavyweight title clash between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, but a win for Warrington will only bring bragging rights.

Cacace, the IBF champion, will see his belt vacated if he tastes defeat, but the title won’t be going back to Leeds with Warrington.

The IBF have ruled that Cacace’s next defence would have to be against mandatory challenger Eduardo Nunez, but they’re allowing him to fight Warrington in a non-title bout.

Warrington had hoped that he would be able to partake in the contest with world title glory up for grabs as he looks to build on an impressive run at featherweight.

His last battle there saw him stopped by Leigh Wood and that defeat looks to have played a huge part in him not receiving an immediate shot against Cacace.
