British middleweight Liam Williams has warned his rival Hamzah Sheeraz of complacency as they prepare to fight this weekend for the WBC Silver and Commonwealth middleweight titles.
Sheeraz faces the biggest test of his career at London's Copper Box Arena against the Welshman, who is a former world title challenger.
The 24-year-old is looking for a fight with Chris Eubank Jr. or Liam Smith next, but Williams - who has a defeat to former WBO champion Demetrius Andrade on his resume - thinks the younger man is wrong to be looking past him.
"What is he talking about? He hasn't beat me yet and he's not going to,” he said, reported the BBC.
Williams thinks he can pull off a surprise with a win on Saturday (live on ESPN+ in the US).
"Personally I think it's a bad mistake, bringing me in to get beat by this guy," he said.
"He's very good, he's talented. He's obviously big for the weight.
"But I don't think I'm the right guy for the job, I think you brought in the wrong guy."
