British reality TV star Aaron Chalmers has called out Jake Paul for a crossover fight before he decides to step away from combat sports.
Chalmers is back in action this coming Saturday when he faces professional boxer Idris Virgo in the main event of MF & DAZN: X Series 009 live on DAZN.
The 36-year-old is no stranger to the world of crossover fights. Before taking up boxing, Chalmers initially made the transition from reality TV to MMA, and then ventured into the squared circle where he has had the privilege of facing Floyd Mayweather Jr. in an exhibition contest earlier this year.
Chalmers managed to go the full eight rounds with the boxing legend, and while the clock is ticking for his career in crossover boxing, Chalmers is hoping a win over Virgo could put him in a position to face one of the biggest names in this particular sphere.
“I’m 37 next year, so I’ve got 12 to 18 months left,” Chalmers told talkSPORT. “So, if I can get some big fights and call it a day, then that would be it.
"I would absolutely f—g love to fight Jake [Paul], that would be a dream.”
Chalmers also revealed that he would be willing to face Paul in either a boxing or MMA bout and why a fight with "The Problem Child" inside the cage is not a pipe dream after nearly signing with the Professional Fighters League (PFL).
“I was speaking to the PFL. I almost signed for the PFL and then it didn’t happen. I am still in contact with someone from the PFL," Chalmers continued.
“I did try to push for me in MMA versus Jake, and boxing as a double. It is something I’d love to revisit but I’ve got to get Idris out of the way and then I’ll start with the online trolling to get the next one.”
