Anthony Cacace maintained his excellent form in 2024 last weekend when he defeated Josh Warrington inside a packed Wembley Stadium.
Earlier this year, Cacace became world champion at super-featherweight when beating Joe Cordina, but is he ready to move up in weight?
Lightweight is currently one of boxing’s deepest divisions with the likes of Gervonta Davis, Shakur Stevenson, and Vasiliy Lomachenko all operating there.
If Cacace does decide to join some of the sport’s biggest names at 135lbs, he’s revealed that he’s in line to face Lomachenko, the IBF champion, as he currently holds the same belt in his current weight class.
“If I move up to lightweight, I’m the mandatory challenger for Lomachenko’s title,” said Cacace when speaking to BBC Sport in Northern Ireland.
“We’re just going to have to see. It’s all in my hands. I’m in the driving seat. We’ll see what the future holds.”
