Sergio Mora believes that Deontay Wilder has not changed enough to stand a chance of defeating Tyson Fury.
Fury won the WBC belt from Wilder in a convincing defeat at the start of last year and Wilder went to arbitration to force a third fight. The Bronze Bomber has been posting updates of his training efforts to social media after replacing many of his backroom team.
Mora, though, is not sure that Wilder has the humility to overhaul his style sufficiently.
“I never heard of Don House before you mentioned his name and I looked him up... UFC and cut man,” Morgan said on JABS as part of the DAZN Boxing Show.
“I just think more voices are going to be more problems for Deontay Wilder. It's the confidence that Deontay Wilder is lacking and he had the right voice in his corner in Mark Breland, an Olympic gold medalist and a former world champion.
“But this is what happens in boxing. The bigger the ego, the bigger the problems of fighters. Deontay Wilder is going in the wrong direction. Jay Diaz wasn't a former champion. Don House wasn't a former champion. Malik Scott - that's a good addition. I know Scott from the 2000 Olympic trials. Hell of a good boxer. Hell of a good amateur, just barely missed out on the Olympics. That's a good addition.
“Everyone else: not needed. The more voices, the more problems a fighter is going to have. You have one clear voice in that corner. Not three, so no it's not going to be a good addition for Deontay Wilder. It’s going to be no problem for Tyson Fury. Make it a number three for him.”
