The future light heavyweight title fight was discussed on The DAZN Boxing Show

The DAZN Boxing Show discussed Dmitry Bivol’s chances against Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

The Russian WBA light heavyweight champion faces Canelo, undisputed at 168lbs, on May 7 live on DAZN (except Mexico and Latin America).

With Canelo having swept the super middleweight division, 175lbs gives him the chance to move up again after his 2019 victory over Sergey Kovalev.

Akin ‘Ak’ Reyes and Barak Bess believe that the fight will be far from easy for the Mexican champion.

Discussing the press conference, Ak said: “I didn’t expect fireworks, like Caleb Plant. Bivol - nice guy, very respectful, doesn’t talk that much smach. And you know Canelo. If you’re respectful to him, he’s respectful to you.”

Barak believes Bivol will not want to let his chance slip.

“This is a huge opportunity to be there,” he began.

“This is a huge opportunity for him. He has a shot, this is not some dead body that’s just going before Canelo. This is an undefeated champion, skillful champion who is beating everybody put in front of him. He has a shot, I’m sure he’s ecstatic. He’s happy for this.”

Ak believed the fight would be a huge event, saying: “This will be held in Sin City, Las Vegas, May 7, Canelo’s second home. I didn’t expect anything else. I’m excited, big arena, big fight. It doesn’t get bigger than that.”
