David Benavidez has the opportunity to make an immediate impact at 175lbs when he makes his light-heavyweight debut this weekend.
Benavidez will face former world champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk and victory will likely lead him to calling out Canelo Alvarez once more.
Failure to secure a bout with the Mexican icon should see Benavidez remain at his new weight and possibly face the winner of the undisputed light heavyweight title fight between Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol which takes place later this year.
Benavidez is eager to put on a show in Las Vegas this Saturday night and he’s promising to bring bad intentions.
"The Monster is coming out and I go for knockout every single time and this fight is going to be no different,” said the Arizona man at the fight’s final press conference.
Can Benavidez score another win and maintain his unbeaten record? Or can Gvozdyk provide a reminder of just how good he is?
