Canelo Alvarez has responded to Tyson Fury following claims from the WBC Heavyweight that Billy Joe Saunders will produce a masterclass when the pair clash on Saturday night in a fight being screened live in all regions except Mexico by DAZN.
Fury, who has accompanied Saunders to Texas, has been an ardent support of his fellow countryman for a number of years and he’s been insistent throughout the build-up that Saunders will be victorious.
“Yeah, I’ve seen it,” answered Canelo when asked on DAZN’s Boxing Show if he had heard Fury’s opinion on how the fight will materialise this weekend. “But we’ll see what happens on Saturday night. “What I can tell you is that Saunders is fighting on another level, that’s the only thing I could say. Come Saturday, he’s going to feel it.”
As well as addressing Fury’s verdict on the fight, Canelo has also admitted that the upcoming clash contains a more personal feeling due to the events that have occurred in the days leading to the fight.
“He has motivated me to hit him more, with the right mentality, and not to lose focus. It does motivate me to punch him some more.”
