Canelo and Eddy Reynoso are on the hunt for "more madness."

LAS VEGAS — Saul "Canelo" Alvarez said that one of his biggest motivations is Eddy Reynoso's constant search for challenges, because he transmits a lot of emotion and desire to go for more.

Winning the undisputed super middleweight title is not the ultimate goal for Alvarez, he says there is much more.

At 31 years of age and planning to fight for seven more years before announcing his retirement, the Mexican fighter assured that the undisputed title would only be one more feat in his already extensive record, as he plans to change divisions afterwards.

"I love that Eddy comes up with things, to be able to have that motivation and be able to do them. Maybe we'll go and unify at 175 pounds (light heavyweight), too. With Eddy you never know, but that's why I'm always ready for whatever he says," said the Mexican fighter, who already reigned at 175 pounds in 2019 when he snatched the WBO title from Russian Sergey Kovalev, a title he later relinquished to return to the super middleweight division and beat Englishman Callum Smith.

However, the possibility of continuing to make history is tempting for the Mexican, because in men's boxing no fighter has managed to have two undisputed championships (in women's boxing only the American Claressa Shields has achieved it).

To get that undisputed double, the option is to go up, because, "going down is already complicated for me," he added. "The truth is that losing weight is already more difficult, because I would leave all my strength in the weight. So the option would be to go up. If the man (Eddy) gets the chance, then we would be going up. I'm ready for whatever there is.

"First it would be semi-complete at best, although if it were at cruiserweight I am also ready, because it is not that much, but Eddy says that it is already a lot, that I give a lot of advantage, but it doesn't matter. Nothing happens," he finished.

The Canelo vs. Plant fight will not air on DAZN. However, The DAZN Boxing Show will be in Las Vegas during fight week for live episodes, exclusive interviews and more.
