Trevor McCumby believes that Chris Eubank Jr. would struggle against Canelo Alvarez.
Alvarez last fought in May against Jaime Munguia, and he secured a routine decision victory.
That left him in need of a fight in September, his other traditional date for action, and a few names have been mentioned.
Edgar Berlanga and David Benavidez are perennially named as potential opponents, and they have not been ruled out.
One contender out of the leftfield is experienced Briton Chris Eubank Jr., and the idea has persisted.
Another super middleweight, McCumby himself, believes that Eubank might have a tough time matching the Mexican.
He told BoxingScene : “I saw the headlines for that fight (Eubank Jr.) and it didn’t really make me excited but still could be a good fight.
“I think Canelo stops him a little bit later.
“I think Eubank can move pretty well and definitely has the skill but I question if he can keep up with someone like Canelo.”
