Canelo Alvarez gave Edgar Berlanga short shrift when he discussed his next opponent’s chances.
The two of them fight on September 14, live on DAZN, as Canelo prepares for his second fight of the year.
Berlanga is the clear underdog, but has a 22-0 record with 17 knockouts, and Alvarez is perhaps no longer quite at the peak of his powers.
Alvarez is nevertheless one of the finest fighters of all time, and can be extraordinarily heavy-handed at 168lbs, so he too poses more than a little threat.
Speaking to BoxingScene, he made it clear he was confident.
“I don't care what kind of fight he brings. I'm going to **** that guy up,” said Alvarez. “He's nervous. We need to understand that."
