Anticipation is building ahead of what should be an entertaining fight on Cinco de Mayo weekend.
Undisputed super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez returns to Las Vegas to defend his four world titles against the dangerous Jaime Munguia on DAZN PPV.
With some claiming that Alvarez, who is one of the world's best pound-for-pound fighters, is on the decline, they believe now could be the perfect time for Munguia to spring what would be a huge upset.
However, while Munguia may be undefeated in his 43 fights as professional, this upcoming clash with Alvarez is by far his toughest test to date and he could struggle against an opponent who is considered one of the greatest to lace up a pair of gloves.
Munguia is being billed as a clear underdog ahead of the fight, but Golden Boy Promotions president Eric Gomez is confident that the 27-year-old can topple the king of the super middleweight division.
“He is in tip-top shape,” Gomez told Boxing Scene.
“Look for the upset. We feel very strongly that he is going to upset Canelo.”
