Demetrius Andrade is the latest fighter to offer his thoughts on a potential 2025 showdown between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.

Since defeating Errol Spence in the summer of 2023, Crawford has made his intentions clear and that’s to secure a big fight against the super-middleweight ruler.

Last year, Crawford moved to 154lbs to defeat Israil Madrimov, but it looks like the only battle he wants next is one with the Mexican icon.

Last year, Canelo cemented his place as the world’s best fighter at 168lbs with dominant performances over Jaime Munguia and Edgar Berlanga.

Speculation exists that the pair could meet in May, but both will have plenty of options if a fight between both men doesn't materialise this spring.

Crawford, arguably boxing’s best fighter, would be taking on the biggest test of his career as he’d be jumping up two weight classes to face his fellow pound-for-pound superstar.

Andrade, who was often linked to a contest with Canelo, has given his verdict on the bout and he believes Crawford would be facing an uphill battle.

“I love Crawford. He's a good friend. We reach out to each other. We've been traveling the world through the amateur program. He saw me beat people up, I saw him beat people up. I think the stories could go on, but when it comes to weight, empowerment, that s—t is real,” said Andrade when speaking to Fight Hub TV

“Canelo is a big bad wolf and he can run the whole night. I think Crawford has the skills, but when it comes to Saul getting shots and blocking his power shots, Canelo knows how to move, too. He has agility. Not like a robot. I mean, it's gonna be tough.

“I don't think Crawford can beat Canelo. But I still think he can give him a good fight. And I'll be sitting there fuming for Canelo all day.”
