The Mexican has not fought since Cinco de Mayo weekend.

The next opponent for the undisputed super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez appears to have been decided.

Alvarez last fought on Cinco de Mayo weekend when he beat fellow Mexican Jaime Munguia by unanimous decision in Las Vegas.

Following the victory, a number of potential major fights presented themselves to Alvarez including David Benavidez and Terence Crawford.

However, it looks like Alvarez's next fight will be against the undefeated William Scull (22-0, 9 KOs) who is the mandatory challenger for the Cuban's IBF super middleweight title.

Purse bids for the contest have since been cancelled with a deal supposedly agreed between the two camps according to an Instagram post by AGON Sports, Scull's promoter.

“Press Release: IBF Mandatory Fight Scull vs. Canelo: AGON Sports and TGB reach agreement," AGON Sports wrote.

This will be a fight which will not be welcomed by a number of fans with many still wanting to see Alvarez face David Benavidez who made his light heavyweight debut this past weekend and beat former world champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk.
