Canelo on the only time he'd consider fighting Jake Paul

Is there ever a chance to make this bout happen?

Canelo Alvarez has heard Jake Paul calling him out for a fight.

It's not that he's 100 percent opposed to fighting the YouTuber/boxer. It's more that the boxing superstar believes a much later time would be better suited for such a fight — as in a post-retirement exhibition bout, the kind Floyd Mayweather Jr. has held on several occasions now.

"Yeah maybe, why not?" Alvarez told "The Breakfast Club" on Tuesday about the possibility about the two fighting years from now.

"Not right now," he added. "For me, not right now because I'm chasing other things in my career. We never know. Maybe later."

That's when he specified that a post-retirement exhibition would be better timing.

"I think so," Alvarez continued. "He can do whatever he wants but I think it's not for real boxing for my career to put a fight in my record with Jake Paul."

When asked how long such a fight would last, Alvarez said bluntly: "Not that long."

He added that he'd be willing to carry Paul a few rounds to entertain fans before ending his night.
