The former world champion gave his thoughts on a fantasy matchup.

One common topic of discussion amongst boxing fans is how the legends of the past would fare against today's current crop of fighters.

These fantasy matchups always create heated debate and now former world super middleweight champion Carl Froch has made his prediction for a fight between Mike Tyson and current WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Fury is currently preparing for the biggest fight of his career when he faces Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight title on May 18, and if Fury is victorious, he will be considered by many to be one of the greatest heavyweight boxers along with Tyson.

However, if the two were to meet in the ring, Froch believes that Tyson's fighting style would prove too much for the current WBC title holder.

"Mike Tyson knocked out a few big lumps and tall guys too. I think Tyson Fury would be able to keep him out of the way for an amount of time but you’re talking about a peak Mike Tyson, who was world champion at 20," Froch told Lucky Block

"I think a peak Mike Tyson beats almost anybody. Just the way he used to be in the ring he was a dangerous, dangerous man. He didn’t stop throwing punches. He used to roll his way into range.

"If they tried to grab him, he’d push him off and he’d throw big hooks and big uppercuts and he’d land on the chin and render them unconscious.

"I think the answer to that question for me would be Mike Tyson beats Tyson Fury.”
