Carl Froch has continued to criticize the upcoming Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou contest and has gone as far as referencing the Rocky franchise when discussing it.
This October, Fury and Ngannou head to Saudi Arabia in a bout that will see the former UFC star make his professional boxing bow against the current WBC champion.
Froch, one of the most outspoke observers on boxing, has made it clear he doesn’t like the fight and has been very vocal on the matter.
A former world champion at 168 pounds, Froch created a reputation for himself as a fighter who would face anyone, and Fury’s latest move is a decision he’s not fond of.
“I watched Rocky with my kids the other day,” said Froch when speaking to Talksport.
“He fought the wrestler, Hulk Hogan. That’s what this is, it’s a joke and he’s not in the joke business.
“[Fury] is the WBC heavyweight champion and he needs to be defending that title as far as I’m concerned.”
